Follow these guidelines to keep your DNS requests clear, efficient, and easy to manage in DNSDone.
Create one request per goal — for example, migrating email, adding a CDN, or verifying ownership. Smaller, focused requests are easier to share and track, and they complete faster.
Start from a template whenever possible. Templates reduce manual entry, prevent typos, and ensure consistency across projects. You can always adjust record values after applying a template.
Invite only the people who need to see or act on the request — usually your client, DNS admin, or hosting provider. Each recipient receives a secure, read-only link by email.
Make sure you’re subscribed to email or Slack notifications in Workspace Settings so you’re alerted when the DNS changes are completed, or when requests fail.
This ensures you never miss important updates without manually checking the dashboard.
The Timeline tab shows every event in your request — record edits, recipient invites, status updates, and propagation checks. Use it to trace what happened and when, especially when multiple people are involved.
Keep an eye on your requests limits to stay within your plan. DNSDone shows your usage in the Billing section. You may consider upgrading if you regularly hit limits.
Your workspace logo, name, and contact info appear in every shared request. Updating them ensures clients know the request is legitimate and can reach you if needed.
