Tracking a request’s progress

Monitor DNS change requests from start to finish

After sharing your DNS request, DNSDone helps you track its status from creation to completion. Each request automatically updates as records are implemented and verified, giving you a clear picture of what’s done and what’s pending.

Understanding request statuses

Every DNS request moves through clear stages:

  • Pending: Request created but not shared yet.
  • Published: Request shared with recipients, waiting for action.
  • Waiting: Recipients have confirmed, but waiting for DNS propagation to complete.
  • Completed: All DNS changes have been successfully implemented and verified.
  • Failed: Some or all DNS changes could not be applied. Check the request details for more information.

Reviewing the timeline

Each request includes a Timeline tab that shows a complete history of activity:

  • When the request was created
  • DNS records added, edited, or removed
  • Recipients added or invited
  • Status updates
  • DNS propagation checks
  • Completion confirmations

The timeline is your audit trail. A quick way to see what changed, when, and by whom.
