Templates let you start new DNS requests with prefilled records, so you can skip repetitive setup work and keep configurations consistent.
Apply a template when creating a request
- Go to DNS Requests and click New request.
- Enter the domain or subdomain.
- Open the Template dropdown.
- Select the template you want to use.
- Click Save to create the request.
The DNS records from the template will appear automatically in the request.
Review and adjust records
After applying a template, you can:
- Add, edit, or delete individual records as needed.
- Change values to match the specific domain.
- Confirm that optional fields like TTL are correct.
Changes you make here affect only this request, not the original template.
When to apply templates
Use templates whenever you have a standard set of DNS records to add, such as:
- When creating recurring setups (e.g., email, CDN, staging).
- When standardizing records across multiple domains.
- When onboarding new clients who need the same DNS configuration.
Using templates ensures every request starts from a known, verified configuration.
